Directions

  1. Combine butter and flour.
  2. Add milk.
  3. Cook over hot water until thick and smooth.
  4. Combine egg yolks and sugar.
  5. Add to first mixture.
  6. Mix thoroughly.
  7. Add salt, vanilla, and coconut.
  8. Fold in egg whites.
  9. Pour into well-buttered casserole.
  10. Set in pan of warm water.
  11. Bake in moderate oven (375 F) until an inserted knife comes out clean.
  12. Serve with lemon sauce. 8 servings.
